Paloma vs Things 3: which handles location reminders better?

Things 3 doesn't do location-based reminders at all — its own support team recommends switching to Apple's Reminders app or a Shortcuts automation for that. If Things is already your task manager and you specifically want geofenced arrive/leave alerts, that's the one gap Paloma (or Apple Reminders) fills. Things stays excellent at everything else it does.

Where Things 3 wins

Things is a genuinely deep, Apple Design Award-winning task manager: projects, areas, headings, tags, and a keyboard-driven workflow that Paloma doesn't attempt. It's also a one-time purchase per platform, no ongoing subscription.

Where Paloma's different

Location reminders are the one thing Things explicitly doesn't do. If "remind me when I leave the office" is a real recurring need for you, Paloma covers it with a saved-places list and adjustable geofence radius, without a Shortcuts workaround.

Questions

Does Things 3 have location reminders at all?

No. Cultured Code's own guidance for location-based needs is to use Apple's Reminders app instead, or build a Shortcuts automation that watches a geofence and edits a Things to-do.

Can I use Things 3 and Paloma together?

Yes, they solve different problems. Keep projects and areas in Things, and use Paloma for the "remind me when I get/leave somewhere" reminders that don't fit a project workflow.
