Who we are

What we collect

Anonymous product analytics. Paloma uses PostHog to understand how the app is used, so it can be improved. Analytics only run in App Store production builds, TestFlight and development builds never send events. Events are tied to an anonymous device identifier, not to you personally. The events we track are: onboarding started, each onboarding step viewed, onboarding completed, appearance preference picked, demo reminder created, notification permission granted or denied, review prompt shown, paywall viewed, free trial started, purchase completed (which subscription package), and that a reminder was created (never the reminder's text or place). Like most analytics tools, PostHog also receives standard technical details with each event, such as device model, OS version, and app version. No name, email, or account is attached to any of this.

Purchase and subscription data. When you subscribe, Apple processes the transaction. RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, receives your purchase receipt and transaction data from Apple in order to verify your entitlement to Paloma Pro and keep your subscription status in sync across your devices.

Location, on-device only. If you create a location-based reminder, Paloma uses your device's location services to detect when you arrive at or leave a place. This processing happens entirely on your device using Apple's iOS frameworks, your coordinates are never sent to us or to any server. We have no way to see where your reminders are located.

Notifications, on-device only. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device using iOS's notification system. No reminder content or schedule is transmitted anywhere.

What we never collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information, Paloma doesn't require an account. We do not use third-party advertising or ad-tracking SDKs. We do not sell your data, and we never transmit your location to a server.

Third-party processors

Paloma relies on a small number of services to operate:

• PostHog (anonymous product analytics), PostHog's privacy policy
• RevenueCat (subscription management), RevenueCat's privacy policy
• Apple (App Store purchases, iOS notifications and location services), Apple's privacy policy

Data retention and deletion

Anonymous analytics events are retained by PostHog for as long as needed to understand product usage, and are never linked to your identity. Since Paloma doesn't have accounts, there's no personal profile to delete on our end. Your reminders and places live only on your device (and in your personal iCloud backup, if enabled), deleting the app deletes this data. If you'd like your anonymous analytics history cleared, contact us using the email above and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA to access or request deletion of data associated with you. Because Paloma doesn't collect identifying information, there's typically nothing to hand over, but if you believe we hold data tied to you, contact us at the email above and we'll investigate and act on your request.

Children

Paloma is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
